2011 Vermont ENTREPRENEURSHIP WEEK

On February 8th, VtSBDC and Vermont REAL (which is VtSBDC's Youth Entrepreneurship program) along with other key partners celebrated National Entrepreneurship Week with an event at the Statehouse. The focus of the event was to bring together entrepreneurs, policy makers, business leaders and educators to shine a spotlight on our future leaders, business owners and workforce!
Governor Peter Shumlin presented a Proclamation celebrating Vermont's entrepreneurial spirit, and announced the winners of the statewide "Building Entrepreneurship Education in our Schools" poster contest for high school students. Students submitted drawings/artwork (either hand-drawn or using technology) to highlight how and why developing entrepreneurship skills will help them now and in the future.
The first place winner of the technology poster was Taylor Santor, of Essex Technical Career Center. His poster is shown below and was used to promote the event.
