The 2013 Celebration of National Entrepreneurship Week represents the seventh year of nationwide recognition of the heritage of entrepreneurial leadership in America, and encourages support for the growth of entrepreneurship education as a lifelong learning process. The Week is the response to the US Congress Resolution #199 in 2006, advocating the recognition of National Entrepreneurship Week at the local, state, and national levels. The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education is proud to sponsor National Entrepreneurship Week 2013 http://www.entre-week.org/ reminding everyone that our economy GROWS because of our entrepreneurs and their creative thinking.

Motivational speaker, writer and comedian Colin Ryan http://astanduplife.com will speak at 10am.

Following this will be the Governor's Proclamation of Vermont Entrepreneurship Week and recognition/cash prizes to the winners from high schools and technical centers across the state for their creative digital posters and videos on the theme of "Building Entrepreneurship in our Schools". Students, legislators, state/local service providers and entrepreneurs will share lively business roundtable discussions over lunch followed by an afternoon for adult entrepreneurs (start-up to existing) to air questions and share information on topics as: marketing, financing, social media and more.

Students enrolled in Career and Technical education clubs/programs including DECA, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Farmers of America, and Skills USA will inform legislators and the public about their programs in the statehouse cafeteria from 8 - 9am. The Vermont celebration is sponsored by Johnson State College, Small Business Administration, Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies, Vermont Small Business Development Center, Champlain College BYOBiz, Lamoille Economic Development Corporation, Vermont Commission on Women, Vermont Department of Economic, Housing and Community Development, the Vermont Women's Business Center and others.
