David is the third generation of Rubel
family entrepreneurs who have made their homes and businesses
in Barre, Vermont. His grandfather Benny owned a retail
store in Barre for over fifty years and his father is
a distributor with a nationally recognized franchise.
Thus, Dave is passionate about helping Vermont businesses
to grow and thrive while still maintaining their intimate
connection to our state.
After graduating from Spaulding High School, Dave went
on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from American University
in International Studies. He also lived and worked in
Japan for four years before returning to Vermont with
his wife, Minori, to raise their two children. During
his time in Japan, Dave passed the second-highest level
of the Japanese Language Proficiency Exam and remains
a competent speaker of Japanese.
Since his return to Vermont, Dave has completed the
MBA prerequisite program at Norwich University, and
has served as a board member for the Vermont Granite
Museum & Stone Arts School and as a member of the
Economic Restructuring Committee for the Barre Partnership.
In addition to being an active member of the Montpelier
Rotary Club, Dave is also a certified facilitator of
FastTrac and NxLevel entrepreneurship training programs.
