My name is Steve Densham, and I am your VTSBDC Area Advisor
for Chittenden and Franklin Counties. A little info about
me: I have two degrees from the University of Denver; a
BSBA in Hotel & Restaurant Management and an MA in Economics.
I served two tours in Vietnam as a Marine Corps Infantry
Officer.
I have owned and operated a successful wholesale meat
& seafood business; 10 successful restaurant operations
across several cuisines and levels of service (and one less
than successful frozen yogurt venture!!); travel agency;
fulfillment business; operational restaurant consultant
and Adjunct Faculty member at Johnson State College, Champlain
College and New England Culinary Institute teaching Strategic
Planning & Mgt, Creativity and Innovation (entrepreneurship),
Critical Issues in Leadership, Basic Hotel and Restaurant
Accounting, Hotel Supervision and Management, Corporate
Finance and Purchasing, Accounting and Finance and Introduction
to Public Speaking both in the classroom and online.
I am a partner in a 3 star hotel in Oakland, Ca. and active
real estate investor. In my career as an independent consultant,
I have assisted several new start-ups, fixed many "broken"
operations and have shown many successful operators how
to "jump the curve" to accelerate growth and develop
manageable exit strategies. I live in Richmond, VT and have
three grown children.
