VtSBDC serves
a wide range of technology-driven businesses throughout
the state. Our client base includes firms in the fields
of Internet Technology (IT), bio-tech, photonics,
fluid dynamics, electronics, new materials and other
disciplines employing extensive engineering, mathematics
and science. Additionally, any innovative Vermont
venture seeking funding from the
UVM
EPSCoR program or federal Small Business Innovation
Research
SBIR
Program is eligible for our assistance.
Technology businesses typically have significant intellectual
property and research and development components. Start-ups
may require extended R&D expenditure and time before
commercial revenue is produced. Collaboration with universities
and other research institutions may be involved. Existing
technology firms usually continue researching new products/services.
Each existing and new technology company we serve has
a strong knowledge base.
Technology firms offer significant economic growth potential
in Vermont. The value of their innovative products and
services make life better and create better-paying job
opportunities. Vermont has various programs to encourage
their development.
VtSBDC TD&C is the client service provider in
an integrated team of programs and people working
to encourage technology-driven companies in Vermont.
