A Warm Welcome to VtSBDC’s 2025 Summer Interns

2 minute read

VtSBDC is proud to welcome our exceptional 2025 summer interns: Rehema Abdi, Jaimie Alessi, and Sofia Limoges. These talented individuals are contributing to VtSBDC initiatives, assisting with client projects, and gaining valuable experience and knowledge. Rehema, Jaimie, and Sofia each bring their own unique backgrounds and experience to the team to help offer new perspectives as well as fresh ideas. Our interns assist in client projects, help to enhance our website and resources, and collaborate to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to shape VtSBDC and the Vermont businesses we serve.

We’re thrilled to introduce our 2025 interns:

Jaimie is a passionate 2025 graduate of the University of Vermont, where she earned her degree in Community Entrepreneurship through the Department of Community Development and Applied Economics. Jaimie co-founded a crochet clothing brand, designing and handcrafting customizable pieces sold at pop-up shops and online. Outside of her business endeavors, she is a ski instructor at Stowe, a spin instructor at UVM and enjoys spending time outdoors with friends! Jaimie is working as our Marketing and Communications intern this summer!

Rehema Abdi is a motivated rising junior at Champlain College, studying Accounting and Marketing. She served as the Social Media Manager for Burlington’s Juneteenth Festival in both 2023 and 2024 and recently returned from a semester abroad in Nassau, Bahamas. In her free time, Rehema enjoys writing, painting, photography, and designing floral bouquets for special occasions. She also loves biking along the waterfront and soaking up the sun with friends. She is joining us as our Communications Intern this summer!

Sofia Limoges is a driven rising sophomore at the University of Vermont, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a theme in Entrepreneurship. She also minors in Reporting and Documentary Storytelling. Sofia teaches tennis and enjoys playing pickleball, paddleboarding, and golfing. When she’s not outdoors, she loves to cook and spend time in her garden. Sofia is working as our Administrative Assistant Intern this summer!

Here’s to a summer of learning, growth, and collaboration. We’re so excited to have Rehema, Jaimie, and Sofia on board, welcome to the VtSBDC team!
