RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. (March 26, 2024) – Linda Rossi, State Director of the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC), has appointed Rick Daniell as the statewide organization’s Business Advisor for Orleans, Essex, and Caledonia counties in the Northeast Kingdom.

Like his counterparts throughout Vermont, Rick provides one-to-one, confidential, no-fee advising to small business owners at any stage of their business: Start. Grow. Thrive. Transition.

As a native of the Northeast Kingdom, Rick is an active community member, familiar both with the region and the specific challenges businesses face in the Northeast Kingdom.

“I am looking forward to working with and supporting small business owners in this region,” said Rick. “As an advisor and as a neighbor, I am excited to bring VtSBDC’s scope of services and vast resources to our communities in many disciplines including financial and digital literacy, business planning, marketing and more to help small business owners move forward.”

Rick’s affinity for small business started early. When he was growing up in St. Johnsbury, his dad was the owner of Tasty Treat Candies, servicing the Northeast Kingdom as the “Candy Man” for many years. And in the early days of his career, Rick started as an electrician for a local mom-and-pop electrical contractor company in Danville.

His career later took him into management where Rick gained expertise in organizational change, business analysis, and project management, Rick’s professional experience most recently includes serving as a senior manager at Kelly Outsourcing and Consulting Group. Prior to his eight-year tenure at Kelly, Rick was a manager at Keurig Green Mountain.

Rick graduated from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa, and St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

“We are so delighted to welcome Rick to our statewide team of advisors,” said Linda. “His combination of business experience, community connections, and commitment to the region will benefit our organization and entrepreneurs in the Northeast Kingdom.”
