RANDOLPH CENTER, VT (August 28, 2024) – Linda Rossi, State Director of the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC), announced that Phyllis K. Ershowsky has been named the organization’s 2024 State Star. The award, presented annually and recognized nationally, celebrates a member of the organization’s team who demonstrates exemplary performance, makes significant contributions to their networks, and is deeply committed to the success of Vermont’s small businesses.
Ershowsky joined the VtSBDC team in 2020 as a consultant and was appointed to a full-time position in 2022. She serves as the marketing and communications specialist, advancing the marketing and communications activities in support of VtSBDC’s mission. This involves strategic planning, writing, scheduling and distributing press releases, announcements, blog articles, e-newsletters, and working closely with other team members on social media, web content related to organizational initiatives and events. She also serves as a co-advisor for marketing and communications, working as a team with the other VtSBDC advisors.
“Phyllis is a top-notch listener and communicator and has enabled VtSBDC to effectively tell our story,” said Rossi. “She is a wonderful representative for our organization and an incredible resource for our small business clients.”
Selected as State Star 2024 by VtSBDC’s advising team, Ershowsky’s colleagues report that she is perceptive, collaborative and positive; an enthusiastic team player who is welcoming.
Originally from New York, Ershowsky began her career in marketing for a major cruise
line and served as public information officer for county government. She was also vice
president of a full-service marketing and public relations firm before opening her own agency where she was a solo entrepreneur and a client of SBDC in Florida. She now lives in Rutland County.
Ershowsky will be honored at America’s Small Business Development Center (ASBDC) national conference taking place in Atlanta in September.
