Vermont Small Business Development Center announces State Star

State Director, Linda Rossi, announced that Steve Densham has been selected as the 2019 State Star of the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC).  This award, given annually, celebrates a member of the organization’s team for exceptional commitment to small business success.  “I am thrilled to recognize Steve for his significant contributions to our organization.

Last year, Steve provided one-on-one advising to over 100 clients; his clients created and retained over 150 jobs, and accessed over $6 million in new capital to start and grow their businesses.  He is a highly respected member of the VtSBDC team and always willing to share resources and give presentations that will help others.”

Densham is the Area Business Advisor in Northwest Vermont, covering Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties.  Steve was nominated by his peers, who described him as “an invaluable colleague, tremendous resource, mentor and team player”.  Rossi said they credit him with making them better advisors, and for leading the way with innovative approaches, including the use of virtual platforms for client meetings.  This is the second time he has received this award in his 11 years with VtSBDC.

“It is an honor to accept this award”, said Densham, “as recognition by colleagues and leaders is one of the finest compliments one can receive and I value it highly”.

Steve will be recognized for this honor at the America’s SBDC national conference in Long Beach, CA next month.
