RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. (March 18, 2020) – In response to the Coronavirus outbreak and the impact it is having on the business community, the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) is working alongside state and federal agencies and local economic development partners to assess the best strategies moving forward to cope with changes to our local business environment. VtSBDC has launched a landing page https://www.vtsbdc.org/coronavirus/ on their website for business owners to access advising and other helpful resources.
“Our first priority is the health and safety of our staff, clients, and community,” said Linda Rossi, State Director of VtSBDC. “Our advisors are working remotely to offer virtual advising and workshops, and VtSBDC services are available to clients by email, phone, and videoconferencing. We are actively collaborating with our community, state, and federal partners to provide assistance to local businesses already feeling the impact of this crisis. We stand with the small businesses of Vermont.
“For the business community wondering how VtSBDC can help during these challenging times, we are here to help curate, decipher, and disseminate critical information into manageable, practical action steps,” continued Ms. Rossi.
The scope of VtSBDC’s triage services include:
- Identify and quantify the impact of this situation on business
- Serve as a resource for timely, credible state and federal updates
- Listen to the unique needs of each small business owner
- Create an action list
- Provide recommendations on how to proceed
- Evaluate options concerning employees and potential closures
